In this update, we’re introducing the ‘Leaps and Bounds’ Limited Time Event as well as plenty of new patterns to showcase your style! But before that, we tested a few unique features this month. 

A few new features.

New Stalls are available in the Marketplace. 

Earlier in the month we added five purchasable stalls to the Rival Stars Horse Racing marketplace. This change was made to help address the community’s need for more space and to accommodate the game’s many diverse horse breeds. These stalls can be found in the horse market and are a permanent feature. Plans for new pasture space are also in development so stay tuned for updates. 

Guaranteed Genes.

We also recently tried something new during the Exotic Genes event. We introduced a feature where players are guaranteed to receive certain genes after a set number of breeding attempts. The idea was to give players a sense of progression and reward, and also help it feel like much more of a win if you got the gene early. But just a heads up, it’s still experimental, and we’re reviewing data and feedback to see if it works the way we hoped, so it may not be available for every Exotic Genes event.

Shortened Breeding Times. 

From breeding to bridle in a beat, we introduced a new concept to the ‘Legendary Studs’ bonus event. The idea was simple: could we improve the experience of breeding during the bonus event by reducing the time it would take to meet your new foal? In theory, this would allow for more opportunities for players to breed the stats or genes that they were aiming for. Our team is looking into the results of this experiment to see how it could impact the game in the future.

We don’t often get an opportunity to talk about some of the other ways we try to improve the player experience in Rival Stars Horse Racing so it was very exciting to be able to share our findings on the Guaranteed Genes and Shortened Breeding Times experiments with you. Without further ado, here’s what you need to know about the 1.51 Leaps and Bounds update. 

Fresh and stylish patterns!

We’re very excited to share that we’ve included 30 new patterns to the roster of genes available in Rival Stars Horse Racing. From blankets to brindles, splashes and spots, gorgeous patterns aim to showcase your stable’s unique personality and style! 

Horses with these new coat patterns will roll out as special offers in the marketplace as well as premium rewards in limited-time events such as the upcoming ‘Leaps and Bounds’ Cross Country Event. 

Cross Country Limited Time Event!

Special events like Steeplechase Stars, Arabian Days, and Foaling Season have helped us reward players for engaging with the many features, mechanics, and race types that Rival Stars Horse Racing has to offer. With the ‘Leaps and Bounds’ Limited Time Event, we hope to extend that idea to fans of Cross Country Racing.  

Much like our other special events, players can earn points and claim rewards by completing tasks such as participating in Cross Country races, clearing jumps, and placing bronze, silver or higher in Cross Country races.  

The ‘Leaps and Bounds’ event kicks off on March 24th (UTC) and will include both free and premium rewards to collect throughout the event. 

Changes and Fixes 

  • A New Special Event!
    • Introducing the new ‘Leaps and Bounds’ Cross Country Limited Time Event. 
    • Complete tasks to earn points and claim rewards.
    • The event begins 24th of March (UTC)
  • New Horse Genes added.
    • 30 new patterns.
    • The first new pattern will be available during the ‘Leaps and Bounds’ event.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed issues where the incorrect horse could sometimes be trained. 
  • Fixed an issue where multiple horses were set as ‘favorite horse’.   
  • Fixed a visual glitch where duplicated horses would appear in stables.
    • This caused issues when players would try to sell the duplicate and end up selling their actual horse. 
  • Fixed an issue where grade 10 horses would appear in story races. 

Known Issues

  • Crashes will occur after certain races when the game fails to load race results.
