~ Join the Rival Stars Horse Racing Community to discuss the latest news and updates! This update rolls out in stages over the next few days, so if you don’t see it yet, check back a little later. ~

Hey everyone! This update marks a huge milestone for the Rival Stars team: the full release of Show Jumping in Career Mode! It’s been a true labor of love over the past year, and we couldn’t be more excited to finally get it into your hands.

Back in July 2024, the Summer Games update introduced the very first version of Show Jumping. Since then, through community testing, early access, and valuable player feedback, it’s now here for everyone to enjoy! We’ve come such a long way, and your feedback has helped shape this mode into something truly special. We’re incredibly proud of the journey we’ve shared.

Show Jumping Career Mode

Show Jumping finally releases for all players as a stunning new game mode. Live the thrilling journey of a show jumper, from humble beginnings to the grandest stage of them all, the Grand Prix.

For the first time, players can rise through four unique Leagues — Club, National, Sponsored, and Grand Prix. Each marks a new level in your Show Jumping journey, introducing bigger arenas, grander settings, and tougher challenges as you advance.

You’ll unlock new courses by earning Reputation Points, which you gain by finishing Show Jumping courses. After each round, you can see how much reputation you’ve earned on the results screen. Once you’ve built up enough, a Qualifier Course will open, and claiming 1st place there will earn you a spot in the next League.

Learning the ropes!

When you first enter Show Jumping, you’ll be welcomed by Sophie with a tutorial designed to give you plenty of room to practice and learn at your own pace. New controls and features are introduced gradually, so you’ll have time to get comfortable before tackling more advanced challenges.

Don’t worry if you miss a few jumps at first; you’ll still earn reputation points to help advance your Show Jumping career. You can also toggle the Path Helper in the pause menu. This guiding line will help you find your bearings on the course, but as you get more experienced, you can discover your own shortcuts to achieve a faster time!

If you played during our early access period, the controls will feel familiar. But don’t worry if you’re new, the tutorial will guide you through everything you need to know before your first competition!

The Science of a Perfect Jump

Just like in Flat Racing, Steeplechase, and Cross Country, your horse’s stats make all the difference in Show Jumping. From Agility to Jump, every detail affects how your horse moves, reacts, and clears obstacles.

  • Speed: Determines how fast your horse can run while galloping.
  • Acceleration: Influences how quickly your horse speeds up or slows down when shifting gears.
  • Sprint Energy: Affects your horse’s confidence capacity and subtly adjusts the jump timing window (a larger pool means you’re less likely to hit red confidence).
  • Jump: Determines course eligibility and affects your timing window size.
  • Agility: Impacts confidence consumption when taking sharp turns.

Traits and Skills have been adjusted to function properly during Show Jumping – though there aren’t any mode-specific Skills or Traits just yet.

What’s Next?

The end of the year is fast approaching, and the spooky season is right around the corner! We’re already cooking up a few Limited Time Events for the holidays, and we can’t wait for you to see what’s in store.
